Common questions

Will the Standesamt accept this for remarriage?
Our certified translations of divorce decrees are produced to the requirements Standesämter ask for in remarriage and Nachbeurkundung, and we translate every clause, date, and case reference faithfully. The decision to accept it rests with the Standesamt; if it is refused because of an error on our part, we correct it free of charge.
Is my divorce decree multi-page?
Often, yes — decrees typically run 2–10 pages. One order covers the whole decree at the fixed price shown at checkout, with no per-page charge. Upload every page so the translator can certify the document as a complete whole.
Do I need an apostille on the original?
For divorces granted in Hague Convention countries, yes — an apostille on the original decree is usually required before translation. You obtain it from the court or authority that issued the decree; arranging it for you is on our roadmap, not something we can do today.
Is my divorce information kept confidential?
Always. All documents are encrypted at rest and in transit, only your assigned translator can see the original, and your documents are permanently deleted 30 days after delivery. We never train AI on your data.
How fast can I get it?
Standard certification takes 3–5 business days. Express (48 hours, +€20) and Digital (24 hours, +€40) are available at checkout. Standard and Express include your posted certified original, while Digital is a signed and stamped file to download, with nothing posted. Multi-page decrees may need an extra business day.
Who is responsible for the source document?
You are. Upload every page of the decree, including signature pages and any apostille. Missing pages or illegible passages will be reflected as such in the translation — we translate exactly what we receive.
Do you refund if the authority rejects the translation?
No. The fee covers production and certification of the translation by a court-sworn translator. Once delivered, it is non-refundable — including if a court, Standesamt, or other body later refuses it. If the rejection is caused by an error on our part, we correct it free of charge and your statutory rights apply. Final acceptance rests with the receiving authority.
