Common questions

Can I use this translation to register my marriage in Germany?
Yes — that is what it is for. Our certified translations are produced to the requirements Standesämter ask for in a Nachbeurkundung (registration of a foreign marriage), and we translate every stamp, seal, and annotation. The decision to accept it rests with the Standesamt; if it is refused because of an error on our part, we correct it free of charge.
Do I need an apostille on my marriage certificate?
If your marriage certificate was issued in a Hague Convention country, yes — you will typically need an apostille on the original before translating. It is issued by the authority in the country that granted the certificate; we cannot arrange it for you yet.
My certificate is in a non-Latin script. Can you translate it?
Yes, for the languages in our catalogue: Arabic, Chinese and Russian, as well as Latin-script languages such as Turkish, Polish, French and Spanish. Each is handled by a court-sworn translator for that language pair.
What if the certificate includes religious marriage details?
We translate the complete document including religious ceremony details, witnesses, and any marginal notes.
How fast can I get it?
Standard certification takes 3–5 business days. Express (48 hours, +€20) and Digital (24 hours, +€40) are available. Standard and Express include your posted certified original, while Digital is a signed and stamped file to download, with nothing posted.
Who is responsible for the source document?
You are. It's your job to upload an accurate, complete, legible scan — every page, every seal, every annotation. We translate exactly what you provide. Errors or omissions in the original will carry through unchanged.
Do you refund if the Standesamt rejects the translation?
No. The fee covers the work of producing and certifying the translation. Once delivered, it is non-refundable — including in the event that a Standesamt or other authority later refuses it. If the rejection is caused by an error on our part, we correct it free of charge and your statutory rights apply. Acceptance is at the receiving body's discretion.
