Join Trusted Lingo as a sworn translator.
Concentrate on translating — we find the customers, take their payment, answer their questions, and send you paid offers for your language pairs. Here is how joining works.
Who we are
Trusted Lingo is a Frankfurt-based platform for certified translations. Customers order translations of personal and official documents — birth and marriage certificates, driving licences, diplomas, transcripts, employment references and more — for German authorities, universities and courts, and pay online up front.
Every order goes to one court-sworn translator, who accepts it in our translator portal, translates and certifies it, and posts the signed and stamped original to the customer (on Digital orders, its scan is the final delivery and nothing is posted). We take care of everything around that: finding customers, taking their payment and answering their questions.
What you can expect
- Offers for your language pairs, each with its exact fee before you accept
- No minimum volume and no exclusivity — accept only what suits you
- Payment within 7 calendar days of your completed work and invoice
- One portal for offers, documents, customer chat and shipping
How registration works
There is no sign-up form. Because our customers rely on your certification, we check every translator first and then invite you in.
Apply by email
Write to contact@trustedlingo.com with the court you are sworn at and your appointment reference, your language pairs, the document types you specialise in, a short CV, and roughly how much work you are looking for.
We check your appointment
We look you up in the official register of sworn translators (justiz-dolmetscher.de or your state's equivalent) and get back to you, usually with a short introductory call.
You get an invitation
If it's a fit, we invite you to the translator portal. The invitation email lets you choose a password — that is the only account step there is.
Complete your setup in the portal
Four short steps: your details and availability, payment and tax details, the rate card for your language pairs, and the three agreements. Bank and tax details are entered here, over an encrypted connection — never by email.
Review and a short walkthrough
We review your setup, usually within 24 hours, and walk you through the portal: how offers arrive, how to deliver, and how shipping works.
You're active
We activate your account and you start receiving offers for your language pairs by email. You decide which ones to accept.
Your setup in the portal
Once invited, you complete four short steps. Nothing is assigned to you until they are done and we have activated your account.

What we ask of you
- You are sworn, appointed or authorised under German state law to certify written translations for your language pairs (an oath as an interpreter alone is not enough).
- You work freelance or run your own business, and have a German tax number.
- You can print, sign, stamp and post certified originals yourself, by a trackable method.
- Your work is careful and structured, and you keep deadlines — or say early when you can't.
- You are comfortable working online: offers, uploads, chat and shipping all run through the portal.
How we work together
- Accept only what you can certify properly and deliver in time; accepting makes the assignment binding.
- Translate and certify personally — no subcontracting, and no AI, machine translation or cloud CAT tools without our written consent.
- Talk to customers only through the order chat; never share private contact details, invoice them or discuss prices with them.
- Keep everything confidential, and delete working copies once the order is complete.
- Review your translation thoroughly before delivery, and follow the source layout as closely as you can.
The full rules are in the agreements every Trusted Lingo translator accepts: Translator Terms of Service · Non-Disclosure Agreement · General Code of Conduct. Where this page and an agreement differ, the agreement applies.
